Types of Bird-Control

Bird control can be divided into three categories:

A) In some cases total exclusion is required. Food factories and warehouses where no birds are tolerated because of possible damage to property or product or because of health issues. This can only be achieved by using products such as bird netting, sound and an ongoing elimination program.

Netting

B) The second is partial exclusion. Sometimes there is a need to stop birds from landing and roosting on specific spots. Access to these spots can then be stopped by making use of products such as spikes, tension wire, shock tape or gel.

C) Thirdly, and in most cases, flock reduction is essential. The Eagle EyeTM is the perfect product to reduce bird pressure.

Eagle Eye is the only non-lethal product that can be used successfully in open areas. The Eagle Eye may be combined with the Nightmare Sound System to improve effectiveness.

Because of the increase in pest bird numbers, there is a big need to reduce and manage their population in our cities. We are here to help the authorities in their search for a solution. We can only achieve that by working together and supply a system that works and is maintained.

No effective bird control can be done without an on-going maintenance contract in place.

With the latest technology, Bird Control has become one of the fastest growing industries in the world.

The latest methods of bird control are vastly different from that of the previous generation. Up to 2004 the best any bird control contractor could do was to close the holes and spike the landing spots.

With the new technology the emphasis moved from "close the holes" to "chase the birds from my building". This is where the Eagle Eye™ Bird Chaser has become the most sought after product to use in the bird control contractors amour.

"The Eagle Eye™ Bird Chaser is the best open area bird control product in the world at the moment".

The system can be powered by a 12-volt transformer, a solar panel or from a transformer plugged into an 240/110v AC outlet.

The solar panel provides power to a battery system that can run the unit during the night. A wide variety of brackets and lights are available to mount to any surface.

orchardsThe Eagle Eye can cover a vast area and should always be installed as part of a system or network of two units or more.

The Eagle Eye reflects sunlight back in the direction of the sun, leaving an unprotected area behind the unit.

This changes during the day as the sun moves from East to West. Buildings, trees and other obstacles can create shadows as well.

To overcome this, multiple units may be used. Additionally, powerful LED lights may be mounted above the unit to mimic sunlight.

  • Make sure that you know where the sun rises and sets. Take in account that the sun moves through the South in the Northern hemisphere of the world and through the North in the Southern hemisphere.
  • There is a blind spot on the opposite side of the Eagle Eye unit (EE) away from the sun. This blind spot moves as the sun moves from East to West. The birds can see this blind spot. They will come in from this blind side and enter the area you are trying to protect. YOU WILL NEED 2 UNITS to cover each other's blind spot.

What to Expect

200806-radisson2The Eagle Eye can be expected to deter a high-percentage of resident birds (fewer if the pressure is heavy); in these cases it should be reinforced with population dispersal, site cleanup, mechanical deterrents and/or physical deterrents.

Should reflections irritate people in nearby buildings, deflectors or glare reduction spray can be used to reduce the reflections.

The units will require cleaning and annual maintenance so a maintenance contract should be contemplated with a accredited Eagle Eye installer. In fact, apart from horticultural and agricultural situations, Eagle Eye must be installed by an accredited installer.

What customers think...

During recent years the ongoing efforts to maintain safety standards at airports and the ever increasing bird populations.

The "Eagle Eye" bird deterrent is an environmental friendly approach as a bird scare tactic that does no harm to the animal but discourages birds from inhabiting certain areas. The Eagle Eye makes use of sunlight to reflect intermittent light flashes in and around the areas covered that in turn causes an irritation to the birds and forces them to relocate elsewhere.
